Polymorphous Canons
05.10.2024: I presented my research into polymorphous canons (Der Canon polymorphus: Versuch einer Anleitung) at the GMTH Kongress in Cottbus.
I plan to release my findings in written form in the future.
A polymorphous canon is any canon melody which has multiple possible resolutions. The most famous polymorphous canon is that by G.H. Stölzel in 1725.
In this project I analysed this canon and developed a technique for composing canons with similar characteristics.
In the meantime, here a few of the resulting canons. For more information, feel free to contact me.
